I couldn't have been more pleased with this unit! Wonderful grind and power. Look forward to many years with this.
I got this unit as a gift for my wife. She thinks it's great and it works great. Shipping was on time. However, the auto stop sensor has stopped working after just ×5 uses. It still works but doesn't stop after all the coffee beans are ground.
MiiCoffee promised to resolve the issues version 1 had and they delivered! I just picked up, under warranty, version 2 of the PT1 portable electric coffee grinder. It's a little bit larger, less parts, and a lot more durable construction. Magnets hold the grinds container on and only the lid where you fill the comes off. All metal, beautiful finish, simple design, and great for travelling/camping. I would have paid for a replacement even if it wasn't under warranty. Great job MiiCoffee!!!
After ~20 months of use ~3x/day, the little plastic tabs on the bean container that hold the motorized top part in place all ripped off while it was running and it just started spinning around rather than grinding. Honestly that's not too bad, in dollars per month for a portable electric grinder that handles 1T of beans at a time well. I had taken it apart and cleaned everything once or twice, but I suspect a more frequent cleaning schedule would put less torque on those tabs. Will be ordering another one (since I'm out of warranty). Note I had the V1.
Minus a star because of the 'full metal construction' claim despite the motor pushing on those plastic tabs.
We noticed the issue in the first version. The current V2 should have this isssue fixed. The V2 design is rock solid :)
