Original holder does not hold portafilter securely, but this add-on does. Very simple to swap out with just one screw. however, it is made out of rugged plastic that does not feel smooth. Would be a lot nicer if it was made of metal or higher quality plastic. For $20, it feels expensive for something that that should have been included in the original design of the grinder.
Totally worth it if you have a df and grind straight to the basket.
If you like to dose straight into the portafilter, it’s a must-have. Holds it hands-free and dampens the vibration of the dosing ring.
This addition to the grinder works great. It holds portafilter perfectly. Why didn’t the original work?
